[UPDATED SCORES 7:30 AM] 2021 #PBCHOOPS Regional Quarterfinal Preview & Predictions ALL South Florida (2A-7A)

District championship playoff week saw plenty of lower seeds beat teams seeded higher. While some were "upsets" for the most part they were just corrections of a flawed computer ranking system (with no human factor) used by the FHSAA that didn't have enough game data to properly rank the teams. Now that the state tournament field is set here's a breakdown of the regions for all South Florida teams including predictions from RMF Magazine co-founder Jean-Camille Dubuisson and long time #PBCHOOPS contributor Derrick Franklin:

After an eventful "Selection Sunday" the field for the 2020 FHSAA State Championship is now set. The bubble wasn't kind to Palm Beach County teams as only one of the five teams with a chance at the #8 seed in their respective regions was selected, Palm Beach Lakes in Region 3-7A. To say there was frustration and confusion about the FHSAA selection process is an understatement. MaxPreps rankings are used by the FHSAA in the formula for rankings but do not use margin of victory.

And then there was one. All year Wellington has held the top spot in our #PBCHOOPS TOP 5 and along the way has surprised with their ability to not rebuild but reload after the departure of Trent Frazier via graduation. The last time a team went wire to wire #1 in our poll was the 2A State Champion Grandview Prep back in 2016. The Wolverines are two wins away from it's second state title in four years and third state Final 4 appearance in a four year stretch.

2018 #PBCHOOPS 9A & 5A Regional Final Preview and Predictions

Only two #PBCHOOPS teams remain to play in their respective Regional Final games for a chance to advance to the state Final 4. The top two teams in the Preseason #PBCHOOPSTOP5 Wellington and Oxbridge Academy have arrived at this spot in different ways. Wellington has been dominant all season going undefeated thus far in regular and post-season play. Oxbridge however has struggled with injuries to key players through out most of the regular season but has come together nicely just in time.
