Saint Andrew's suffered it's second loss in a week's time when Martin County came down to Boca to claim a 73-67 victory over the defending champs. Competitive play continues as Saint Andrew's and Grandview Prep participate in the prestigious Kreul Classic this week in Broward. Here's a look Behind This Weeks #PBCHOOPS Top 5:

#1 Saint Andrew's (3-2)

Saint Andrew's took one on the chin, falling to Martin County Saturday night at home. The Scot's have no time to to feel bad for themselves however, as they are just one of two Palm Beach County teams invited to participate in this years Kreul Classic. The road won't be easy once again with The Rock, Coral Gables and Westminster Christian all in the same bracket.

#2 King's Academy (5-1)

The Lions suffered its first loss of the season to Elite Academy on Tuesday night but followed that up with a big win over well regarded Highlands Christian squad. Highlands had been flying high after handing Jupiter Christian their first loss of the season last Saturday, King's Academy got big time games from senior Bijan Hunter and junior big man Logan Knight who finished with a double double 11 points and 14 rebounds.

#3 Jupiter Christian (6-1)

Jupiter Christian picked up two wins over Monsignor Pace and Benjamin. A highly anticipated matchup Friday against Cardinal Newman was postponed.

#4 Grandview Prep (5-1)

Grandview Prep has played a total of 6 games and they have gone to overtime in 3 of those 6 games. The latest came Thursday night when Elite Academy cut a 10 point Pride lead to send it to OT before ultimately falling to the guys from Boca. Grandview is the other Palm Beach County program participating in the Kreul this week and face some of South Florida's best as they are in pool with Boyd Anderson, Miami Country Day and state superpower Dillard.

#5 Saint John Paul II (4-2)

The Kreul Classic December 19-22, 2020

The Kreul Classic is set for this week. South Florida basketball coaches, players and fans need to all be thankful the organizers committed to putting on the event during such trying times as many other events canceled for this year. The Kreul is an Elite National tournament that brings together top teams from all over the country to face South Florida's best. While the event will be missing its national flavor there are more than enough talented teams in South Florida to continue the excellent tradition. This year, #1 Saint Andrew's and #4 Grandview Prep were extended invitations to the event. Games begin Friday, December 19th and will be streamed live on BallerTV.

#4 Grandview Prep vs Boyd Anderson

Grandview Prep gets a tough matchup out the gate with one of Broward's top teams year in and year out, Boyd Anderson. This is a great Broward vs Palm Beach, public vs private school matchup and should be a nice test for both teams. One Cobra we will have a close eye on is 6' 3" senior guard Mike Loumie who played middle school ball at Tradewinds Middle in Lantana.

#1 Saint Andrew's vs Coral Gables

The games don't get any easier for the Scot's as they tip off the Kreul with one of 7A's top contenders down south, Coral Gables. On paper the Cavaliers don't have the size to match up with Saint Andrew's but play a tough brand of basketball that keeps them in every contest which has them at 3-0 on the season.

Both Grandview Prep and Saint Andrew's continue the Kreul into next week.

After much consideration the decision was made to continue to keep separate Private and Public School polls each week. The addition of the #PBCHOOPS Power 5 poll, which will be based on MaxPreps rankings will begin next week.
