First Look: Mario McDonnough

2024 Mario McDonnough is a point guard out of Forest Hill High School. The 5-foot-10 floor leader is looking for a big year with the Falcons. McDonnough played with Ball4Lyfe United this summer.

McDonnough is an excellent ball handler that knows how to finish through contact. In addition, his floor IQ creates passing situations for his teammates. In late game instances, McDonnough is a reliable free-throw shooter. Forest Hill should be able to count on him into the fourth quarter. Overall, his all-around skill is only improving.

McDonnough's goals for the fall include improving his jump shot and perimeter shooting. Anymore consistency from McDonnough in those areas could propel him to another level. If that happens, Forest Hill could be a tough team around West Palm Beach. The Falcons went 20-6 before falling to Lake Worth in the 7A state tournament last season. Forest Hill is hoping to win districts and make a deeper run up in Lakeland in 2022-2023.

McDonnough could be a key factor for that to occur.

His unselfish play and leadership are what helps good teams become great. McDonnough also hates to lose more than he loves to win. A coach should love that type of attitude. Off the court, McDonnough is an excellent student with a 4.4 GPA. You can find him on Twitter @Flashrio03.
