#PBCHOOPS Summer Standouts 2022

Summer basketball looked like it did a few years ago. High School Team Camps were on center stage in June and two July NCAA LIVE Periods helped many athletes get much needed opportunities to play in front of college coaches. Finally to start of the month of August the #PBCHOOPS "Summer Championships" brought out strong group of coaches from South Florida colleges and universities to get eyes on the top players from Palm Beach County.

Before we get fully locked in to "Fall Ball", it's time to take a look back at our list of standouts from the 2022 Summer:

Slam Dunk Winners:

Blake Wilson c/o 2023 6' 5" (Dwyer/Ball4Lyfe) - One thing is for certain with Palm Beach County players and the summer months over the last several years. There will be at least one player who catches fire and takes off, gaining momentum not only locally but across the region carrying momentum into the high school season. 6' 5" c/o 2023 sharp shooter Blake Wilson is that guy this summer. Wilson was in "GO MODE" and performed all summer on a talented Ball4Lyfe 2023 team traveling all across the country. Wilson was staple on every notebook and watch list at the events he attended. To wrap it up Wilson put on a show at the 2022 #PBCHOOPS "Summer Championships" to close out his summer run. The recruiting interest has spiked after visits with Barry University, interest from Cornell and offers from College of Staten Island, Life University and Tabor College.

Anquan Boldin Jr c/o 2023 6' 4" (IMG Academy/Ball4Lyfe) - After a year at IMG Academy and subsequent reclassification, Anquan Boldin Jr. picked up where he left off last summer, keeping his foot on the gas and in return showed why he is one of the most sought after prospects in the class of 2023. Bolden dominated each time out, garnering the eyes of many college programs including Wright State, Florida State, North Florida with his most recent offer coming from Metropolitan State University. As Boldin returns to IMG for a post grad year expect the interest and offers to heat up even more.

Kyle McNeal c/o 2023 6' 2" (Dwyer/Ball4Lyfe) - The Ball4Lyfe trifecta completes with Kyle McNeal who along with Boldin Jr and Wilson made their squad a must see each time they stepped on the court. McNeal focused his summer on basketball and it paid off picking up offers from Tabor College and Keiser University. McNeal remains at the top of many college coaches recruiting board and will remain so as we head into the 2022-23 basketball season.

Collin Paul c/o 2026 6' 4" (Jupiter Christian/Harris Athletics) - Rarely do 8th graders make a list like this but 6' 4" guard Colin Paul's performance on the biggest stages of middle basketball put everyone on notice. Paul stood out with his Harris Athletics 2026 squad garnering an invite to the Made Hoops 8th Grade Finale. While Made Hoops is the stepping stone to the Nike EYBL circuit, Paul's next steps will lead him to coach Tavares Harris and Jupiter Christian School for his freshman season of high school basketball.

CJ Beaumont c/o 2023 6' 7" (Palm Beach Prep/Florida Pro) - CJ Beaumont went from unknown to known in a relatively short period of time. After finishing out his senior year at Dwyer, Beaumont connected with Palm Beach Prep founder Connor Quigley and exploded on to college coaches radar playing with both Palm Beach Prep and Florida Pro. Beaumont picked up an offer from Bryant University and has officially reclassified to the class of 2023 with Palm Beach Prep this season.

#PBCHOOPS Welcome to the Show

PTPers (Prime Time Players):

Hedrens Bartelus c/o 2024 6' 5" (Lake Worth/South Florida Elite) Bartelus is the real deal and has all the tools to be the next big thing to come out of Palm Beach County. The 6' 5" multi dimensional wing plays with a relentless motor and desire that is hard to beat on the hardwood. Hedrens had a huge summer with South Florida Elite and capped it off with an elite performance at the #PBCHOOPS "Summer Championships" that impressed several college coaches in attendance.

Elijah Duval c/o 2024 6' 3" (Martin County/Nightrydas) - The 2021-22 #PBCHOOPS Breakout Player of the Year was electric on the EYBL circuit picking up an offer from Georgia and jumping into the ESPN Top 60 rankings for the class of 2024.

Stone Bureau c/o 2024 6' 0" (Suncoast/Florida Pro) - Stone Bureau made the jump to 17U this summer with Florida Pro and it paid dividends. Bureau had the opportunity to play in front of college coaches on center stage at many high profile events this summer attracting interest from D1 college coaches all across the east coast. Stone and his Suncoast squad will be one of the most talented in South Florida this season.

Mason Brown c/o 2023 6' 7" (Dwyer/Southeast Elite) - Mason Brown is new to Palm Beach but not new to the scene at all. The 6' 7" long, athletic wing runs the floor and finishes above the rim. He adds to what is already a loaded Dwyer squad looking to get back to Lakeland.

Nelson Altilus c/o 2023 5' 9" (Dwyer/Lake Worth Pride) - Nelson Altilus was a big time performer all summer for a talented Lake Worth Pride 2023 squad. Altilus is an explosive athlete that scores everywhere on the floor and will be a key piece to a high powered Dwyer attack.

Jackson Baer c/o 2023 6' 0" (Jupiter/Jupiter Jaguars) - Jackson Baer had a breakout summer with the Jupiter Jaguars going for big numbers each time out. Baer made a name for himself and will be a player to watch this high school season.

Andrew Sineway c/o 2023 6' 6" (St Andrew's/Wellington Wolves Select) The 6' 6" sharp shooter stood out on a loaded Wellington Wolves Select squad. Sineway's summer performance earned him his first offer from the US Merchant Marine Academy.

Calvin Sirmans c/o 2023 5' 9" (Lake Worth/Wellington Wolves Select) After a being named Player of the Year, Sirmans had big plans for the summer. Unfortunately minor surgery after the season put him on the shelf for all of June and most of July. Sirmans returned just in time for the July Live Period and proved he can still do it all from scoring to facilitating.

Kyle Edison c/o 2023 6' 2" (Saint John Paul II/SOH Elite) Edison spent the month of July running with SOH Elite on the Under Armour Rise Circuit and June dominating with his Saint John Paul II squad at summer leagues and team camps. The reigning small schools Player of the Year shows no signs of letting up for his senior season.

Adrian Gilles c/o 2023 5' 10" (Forest Hill) Adrian Gilles had a relatively quiet but productive summer off the grid preparing for a stepped up role for Forest Hill this season. The 2023 guard's motor is unmatched and had several strong performances during competitive summer leagues and team camp play across South Florida this summer.

Brooklyn Vick c/o 2024 5' 11" (Saint Andrews) Brookyn Vick is another player who was seemingly quiet all summer but instead focused on development and strength. When he did get out however, he put on a show at the Delray Men's League running with several current collegiate players. Vick will be a key in St Andrew's success this season.

Jaelen Nelson c/o 2024 6' 4" (Dwyer/Team Breakdown) The 6' 4" guard had a big summer running with Team Breakdown 16U on the UAA circuit. Nelson's length, skill and athleticism made him a prospect to watch coming out of the summer and into the high school season.

Ransom Soles c/o 2024 6' 4" (King's Academy/South Florida Elite) Ransom Soles could be the best kept secret in all of South Florida. A pure shooter with nice size that can knock them down in bunches. He will be a name to know this season.

Marvin Golf c/o 2023 6' 5" (Lake Worth/Lake Worth Pride/Wellington Wolves Select) Marvin Golf like his Lake Worth running mate also had minor surgery at the end of last season, taking the early part of summer off. Golf took full advantage of his opportunities to end the summer with strong performances with Wellington Wolves Select and at the #PBCHOOPS "Summer Championships" with Lake Worth Pride.

Reggie Reinhardt c/o 2024 6' 0" (Wellington/Wellington Wolves Select) Reggie Reinhardt had a busy summer playing both 16U and 17U. No matter level scoring is not an issue, Reinhardt is a gifted scorer with a strong, physical frame.

Adrian Espinoza c/o 2023 6' 0" (Inlet Grove/Wellington Wolves Blue) Adrian Espinoza made a name for himself out in Belle Glade putting up big numbers at 2A Glades Day. This summer he stepped up a level running with Wellington Wolves Blue and showed his game translates. The 6' guard will finish his senior campaign with a beefed up Inlet Grove squad looking to make noise in tough 3A region.
