First Look: Tahir Bond

2024 Tahir Bond is a prospect to watch in South Florida. The 6-foot-3 combo guard has built a ton of momentum this summer playing for 16U Team Knight.
He recently completed a successful run at the Hoop Seen/NY2LA Sports Best of the South Event. Bond averaged 16.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.8 steals per game.

Here are some of his numbers:
27 points vs. WI Swing
26 points vs. Illinois Central
4 steals vs. South Georgia Elite
4 assists vs. WI Swing

Bond played his sophomore season at Fort Lauderdale High School for head coach Stefan Whittingham. With the Flying L's, he averaged 9.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.4 steals across 24 games. Moreover, Bond scored in double-figures in eleven contests. Of those outings, he shot at least 45 percent from the floor in seven of them.

However, Bond is much more than just a scoring guard.

The athletic prospect grabbed six or more boards in nine games. Bond posted a season-high 10 rebounds against Pompano Beach and another seven against 23-win Cypress Bay. His awareness and vision makes him an excellent rebounding guard. More so, he is persistent around the glass.

His playmaking ability is also evident on defense. Against Cooper City (14-6), Bond recorded a season-high six steals. He also tallied five swipes in four other games. Bond has clearly shown diligence as a defender. I also think his size and athleticism gives him an advantage man-to-man.

Overall, Bond helped the Flying L's win 17 games. He has since transferred to Coral Glades High School to play for Whittingham.

Look for Bond to carry his grassroots momentum to the Jaguars this fall. All indications point to him having a big season.
