#PBCHOOPS Players of the Week ended 5/8/16 Crisnel Francios

Crisnel Francios of Lantana Middle School is this weeks #PBCHOOPS Player of the Week ended 5/8/16.

The 2020 8th grader shined with Ball4Lyfe 14U at Session 3 of the NYBL in Washington, DC this weekend. Crisnel helped lead his team to a 5-0 record and now the 14U squad has not lost an NYBL game in 2 sessions.

Crisnel will be attending Suncoast High School next year as a freshman.

#PBCHOOPS Player of the Week ended 5/1/16 - Jules Jasmine

Jules Jasmine of Royal Palm Beach High School is this weeks #PBCHOOPS Player of the Week ended 5/1/16.

Jules averaged 15 points, 10 rebounds and 2 dunks per game this weekend with the Wellington Wolves 17U team at the AAU Goldcoast District Championships in Coral Springs. For his performance, the 2017 wing was named Co-MVP along with Trent Frazier.

This is Jasmine's second time winning #pbchoopsPOTW as he won during the regular season with his Royal Palm Beach Wildcats the week ended 1/24/16.

Now What??

It's a hard sell changing the mindset ingrained in so many not only travel team coaches and directors but parents that the play as many games as you can every weekend model, in front of nobody is the way to go. A slight argument can be made for lower grades (although we believe development should replace multiple tournaments) but when a team is in high school, it is necessary to branch out and get exposed to various levels of competition and exposure. This exposure makes the player and respective teams better which in-turn raises the level of play locally in our high school game.
