Day 1 Wrap Up - Florida PRO "The Warm Up" 4/6/19
Coming into "The Warmup" there were plenty of unknowns, after Day 1 quite a few players that stepped up. Here are some Saturday's top performers:
This is actually the 16U EYBL squad and they are tough. The squad features c/o 2022 twins Amen and Ausar Thompson along with a quartet of Palm Beach County talent from the c/o 2021. Justin Roseme, Christopher Walker, Jason Simpson and Mickeal Ashmore.
Top Performers: Ausar Thompson, Justin Roseme
Jags went 1-1 and showed a their toughness all day, after finding themselves in deep holes early in both games only to fight their way back late. 6. 8" 2020 Josh Glesil really had himself a day, shooting lights out from behind the arc. Guards are gritty and go hard on ever possession, very tough.
Top Performers: Josh Glesil, Larry Scott, Eduardo Diaz, Kyle Feldman, Sean Gormley
Suns Team Harris
Suns put up a nice performance in a win over the South Florida Kings, solid group that plays well together.
Top Performers: Luis Young, Kendrick Wilson
South Florida Kings
Kings went 0-2 on the day with a newly formed group, while they led early the lack of cohesion showed as the games played on. This will be a dofferent group in a few weeks.
Top Performers: Aamir Justice, Jean Francios
This was the team to watch coming into day and did not disappoint. Very talented squad of 2021's from a variety of Palm Beach County schools. Picked up a big win over Team Breakdown and came back before finally falling to Team Swoop. Really like the versatility of this group, plenty of long athletic players that can handle the ball and create shots.
Top Performers: Devin Hines, Micah Octave, Makye Boles
Up there with Jupiter Jaguars as the toughest team on the day. Solid defensively and playmakers on the offensive end.
Top Performers: L. Pervilon, Tyshaun Daniels, Matthew Robinson
Team Breakdown Grey
This is one of three Breakdown 16U teams. Not much size on the court on Day 1 but plenty of athletic guards that make plays. Fell short to a solid Landfall Elite team but showed toughness. This group has yet to gel, will be a group to check back on later this spring and summer.
Will have more on 15U Team Swoop Supreme, Florida PRO and Wellington Wolves Gold in the event wrap up.
"The Warmup" has quickly turned into a must play event for South Florida team, looking forward to Day 2. Schedule can be found here http://mmcgeebasketball.com/the-warmup/
